Asian Workers’ Compensation Association has been the only one regional association dealing with workers’ compensation insurance in Asia and the Pacific Region since its birth of 2012 in Seoul. And, it has played the pivotal role in the continued exchanges and cooperation. Moreover, it has provided valuable opportunities to understand the global social security trends and to share the good practices at technical seminars which were jointly organized with international organizations like ISSA(International Social Security Association). We all have been faced with a rapidly changing social security environment accompanied by digitalized globalization. In particular, it has been an inevitable challenge to workers’ compensation insurance organizations in Asia and the Pacific to let non-standard forms of workers in the platform economy access to adequate social securities. Moreover, considering the background of the increasing trend of labor mobility across Asian countries it has been discussed as one of important social security issues how to promote the portability of social security across countries. I am confident that you all could understand the need to further strengthen the function of the multilateral cooperation mechanism like the Association for the concerted reaction against the environmental changes. Many renowned scholars, researchers and futurists have predicted that 21st century would be the age of Asia. In this regard, countries in the Asian region need to strengthen the communication and cooperation, collaboration among ourselves. Korea is very happy to be the facilitator as well as promotor between Asian countries. I thank you all in advance for your cooperation and every activity in our Association. And looking forward to deeper development of the Association in all areas in the coming years, I would like to wish everyone here good health and happiness. Thank you.
